My biggest goals for teaching are to provide a student with a comfortable space to be vulnerable, allow them that space to promote learning, and create a plan for students that allows them to achieve their personal goals while growing their love and passion for music. In class I work on the development of the singing voice through body awarenessapplying the Feldenkrais Methodand voice techniques from the worlds of classical, jazz and contemporary music. Aural awareness is improved through ear exercises singing. Techniques for performance practice and dealing with performance anxiety are addressed. The first six months are the hardest! That is the time when you are building up the muscles that are going to be the fundamentals for later on in your career. Although it might seem to the student that they don't see any change, it's happening more than they think! I continuously push my students to stay positive and not to give up within the first six months. Teaching students who really want to learn and who push themselves at home is one of the most rewarding experiences when they finally make it through that first barrier. Read More

After graduating from Hofstra University in 2014, I have had the opportunity to work in regional theatre and recording in and out of NY. I am currently an EMC working towards getting my Actors Equity union membership. I have the honor of having Broadway star Robert Cuccioli as a musical theatre acting coach, as well as renowned musical theatre coach Stephen Purdy. It gives you better vocal control, larger ranges, and overall finesse. Through both my teachers I also learned a lot about different techniques on piano. For most piano students I start them off with 'An All In One Beginner Piano Course' with Andrew Fling. This introduces the piano in such an interesting way and has students advancing in only a few short lessons. I am an intuitive teacher: I have learned how to observe my students, their moods, their energy levels, and adjust my lesson plan on the fly. For instance, one student has ADHD, which I manage by injecting exciting new rhythms for him to mimic when I see his attention wander.
