I believe in acquiring a global understanding through a multiplicity of styles. Jazz and classical are my points of departure and then I incorporate different material as you develop your skills. I have several method books that I use including "Mastering Piano Technique", "Manual of Scales and Arpeggios", "The Jazz Theory Book" and "Harmony and Theory" by Keith Wyatt to name a few. Before that, I was employed by New York Edge (formerly Sports And Arts In Schools Foundation) as a Teaching Artist/Mentor. I was placed in an Alternative High School in Manhattan called City As High School where I worked with students aged 16-21. Specifically, I worked with a program within the school called MAD (Music, Art, and Design) Academy. I am a classically-trained singer and piano player  with over 10 years of private teaching experience.  I have performed in several recitals including the Early Boston Music Festival.  In addition, I have performed with sveral different choirs throughout the years. Though my specialty is classical and opera, I can aso teach Broadway, pop, and jazz styles as well.  I welcome all student levels from beginner to advance and my teaching philosophy is to tailor the lessons for every student in order to help them acheive their full potential.  Read More

I'm a fun, motivated and passionate instructor.  I graduated from McGill University's Schulich School of Music in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, with voice as my main instrument.  Since then I have been teaching and performing around New York at historic venues such as Birdland, The Plaza, Iridium, Bitter End, amongst others.  I have also recorded an album with Grammy nominated producer and arranger Rob Mounsey and perform with the world-famous Postmodern Jukebox.  I have taught a variety of genres, ages, and levels of students.  Through my performance, recording, and teaching experiences, I’ve acquired substantial knowledge to bestow on my students.  It’s a true gift to be able to share my love of music and to help my students reach their potential.   Read More

I always find out what the student likes and use that material as a format for developing good playing techniques and understanding, For beginners it's important to get it right from the start so playing and enjoyment can develop naturally. By immediately choosing songs they love the inspiration and motivation to practice will grow along with there playing. I have been exposed to teaching since high school. However, I did not get serious about teaching until my college days. I took two vocal pedagogy classes. Through these classes I learned both about the pedagogy of healthy singing and of productive teaching. I truly believe that having a good classical foundation will take a student far.
