I don't offer a common style of lessons with all students, instead I design a course of study based upon each student's interests, personality, and the direction they want to go with their music, and after a few sessions of working together, I like to select repertoire that showcases them well and peaks their interests. During my undergraduate time I was apart of those vocal ensembles and worked closely with professors and students to write, arrange and perform full length vocal compositions. Soon after graduation, I was a full-time musician giving freelance voice lessons, and also teaching jazz voice while an artist in residency at Duke Ellington. During my time at Duke, I continued to perform and record around Washington, DC. This is where I began to be recognized for my talent, and was approached by an independent label who would soon thereafter move me to Atlanta, Ga to pursue my goal of being a full-time artist. Throughout college I was a piano and voice instructor at the Boys and Girls Club Music Clubhouse in Boston MA where I continued teach students ranging from ages 10-18.For the past three years I have continued to provide private instruction and tutoring for students of all ages.I find that my students have a much more pleasurable learning experience, when they are able to apply what they learn in ways that are meaningful to their desire and aspirations.I've always encouraged my students to uphold a positive work ethic and mindset when embarking on their musical journey.
