I have helped students achieve their goals as young as 4 years old and into their college years! I am trained in the Suzuki Method, but I also feel comfortable teaching any preference and learning style. I particularly enjoy teaching younger musicians and have focused my work on beginner students, as young as preschool. If not coming for theory tutoring then I begin with Vidal keyboard harmony practice and then progress with 16th and 18th century counterpoint Composition lessons are based on scores or recordings the composition student brings in that they have written or are interested in. We discuss the composition and the students goals in writing the music and I recommend scores to look at as well as articles, book, and journals that are relevant to the students particular interests. I supplement some of the things in the book with other literature and hand written exercise to help enhance learning experience. I am a classically trained violinist. I enjoy helping my students to improve and bringing out their full potential. At the age of 15, I was offered scholarship by the British Government's Music and Dance Scheme to study at a music high school, the Purcell School of Music in the UK with Berent Korfker, who was also a professor at Royal College of Music. After spending 5 years at Berlin University of the Arts (one of Europe’s most premier classical music & arts conservatories) earning my Bachelor of Music degree under Latica Honda-Rosenberg, I received full scholarship to study at the Yale School of Music with Hyo Kang.
