My teaching style is very analytical yet engaging! I try to establish a good relationship before pushing a student. At that point I will ask the student to play to the best of his/her ability. I like to find out why my students are interested in playing music. This helps me to create a lesson plan for each individual one. I like to start out teaching using Alfred's beginner books, and progress from there. Each student learns at a different pace, so I base my lessons off of their progress. I prefer using the Suzuki Method for beginners. I do, however incorporate different methodologies and “tricks of the trade” that I was taught through the years that helped me to increase confidence, poise, and technique. For example, I believe that every beginner should learn at least one scale a week in 2-3 octaves slurred. This helps to train the ear as well as increase the dexterity in shifting techniques. I am a graduate of the Boston z conservatory with a degree in both violin and piano. I have oergormed at thr White House numerous times and in additionition have performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Paris, London, Wales, Rome,Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Vatican for the Pope amongst many other places.
