I have been playing the violin for the past nine years and have had four excellent violin instructors, each with different backgrounds and approaches to violin instruction. Because of this, I have had well-rounded education in the violin which is a great benefit in my violin teaching. Up to this point, I have taught violin to six different students and have seen each of them make remarkable progress. I have enjoyed a rich orchestral career, which has taken me across the country to perform with professional orchestras such as the Austin Symphony Orchestra, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, the Battle Creek Symphony, the Amarillo Symphony, and many others. Additionally I have performed in numerous public concerts and events as a soloist and an ensemble musician. As a teacher i encourage my students to keep improving and progressing to the best of their ability. While I can be strict, I always try to make lessons fun, especially for young children because it is essential to their learning capability that they enjoy learning their instrument. Students are given opportunities, words, and support to increase their self confidence while constantly challenging them so that they can make the greatest strides possible to their own personal level and learning speed. I believe the best teaching method is one that focuses on the accomplishments of each student. I have several different rewards systems that I will use to motivate students to practice at home. Part of this system is encouraging my students to set their own realistic goals and walking them through how to reach them. N.J. We were part of a special collaboration between Rutgers University and the arts school. Outer specialized program was called, " Soweto" due to our team collaboration in Johannisburg, South Africa. I also worked there for numerous years as a substitute violin instructor for Doctor Younoski. I also worked in an Enrichment program at Bethal Christian Academy, in the afternoons after school, M-F. I taught a Youth In Arts program on the weekends at George Inness Junior High, which was sponsored by The Mount Claire Public School Systems. Read More
