I began studying classical singing and performing in gospel choirs, vocal ensembles and chorales at a young age. After earning my Masters Degree in Education, I enjoyed 10 years of teaching 7th to 12th grade students in public schools. I have performed throughout the country as a classical, jazz and contemporary vocalist before opening my own recording studio in 2014. I teach reading music as well as playing by ear (a wonderful skill rarely taught on the piano). I was brought up with the Suzuki method. Therefore, I do use that as my main method to teach. However, since the start of my experience as a teacher, I have learned new methods of teaching. As a result, I am very open to different teaching methods. My preferred method is Suzuki. I also want to know that students are enjoying playing and practicing their instrument.
