For beginning students, I like to start from Essential elements, Suzuki 1, or Piano Adventures. Students will also likely have a theory workbook or worksheets that match the level of their current repertoire. Intermediate students, we will start using a program called smart music that plays the accompaniment for pieces that we are working on. This will really help develop a great internal sense of rhythm and help students recognize immediately when something needs correcting. Read More

My name is Brad A.. I am a graduate of Florida Southern in Lakeland Florida, where I learned to play and teach voice, guitar, and all the instruments in the violin family. I am primarily a guitar player, but I still have a passion for the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. I play and teach the repertoire in the Suzuki Method on the violin. I am also an accomplished "fiddle" player. Read More

Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, among others. They have used the orchestral practice to rescue the childhood, abandoned youth, poverty, and to build and peace zone. At the same time, I can mention cases such as that of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, who was my student in Venezuela, who was raised in a precarious social and economic context. Today he is one of the most outstanding musicians and orchestral conductors at an international level. 3- My philosophy is “To Play and To Fight”, tight to the wish of “to be” through music. I find that my teaching style is focused on harboring curiosity of music for the beginner student. It brings me joy to see a student go above and beyond because they research more to what I offer them on the page to help enrich their playing. I ask students what they most would like to work on or accomplish and help them set realistic goals with skill building exercises to practice. Read More

I teach the student as much as they can absorb while making sure they understand the material.I have never run out of material to teach.I teach proper technique and about scales because every song written is based on scales.I also work on songs with the student at the same time so they can see and understand how the songs and scales are used together. After the basics are understood we move on to songs the student wants to learn.I can also tailor lessons to a students wants or needs if desired.I have been doing this quite a while and understand what works. For beginning cello students of all ages, I normally use one of my teacher's method books: Cellocity by Helga Winold of Indiana University. As my cello students progress, I slowly introduce smaller pieces that can normally be found in Suzuki method books. After my cello students have advanced significantly, I begin to introduce more complex pieces that are found in the standard cello repertoire. Eventually, my students reach a level where they gain the ability to gauge their experience level and select their own pieces with my approval. Read More
