My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Read More

I am a trumpet player, composer and educator. I grew up in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston, MA in 2012 where I attended Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I believe that music is a great tool for communicating to each other even past language and cultural barrier. My goal as teacher is to enable each students personal talent and guide them through knowing an instrument so that they can access that communication and the endless possibilities that come with it. I have consistently maintained a teaching studio of trumpet students since 1997. I have taught people of all ages and skill levels, in both individual and group settings, as well as beginning guitar lessons, in addition to coaching students in music theory. I have been lucky enough to study with some of my idols, and I use an approach that mixes and matches the methods of these many teachers, based on what worked for me when I was studying with them. I am a musician, composer, and educator seeking to share my musical knowledge with students who are eager to learn. I was born into a musical family, and was exposed to great music from an early age. I began playing the piano when I was eight, picked up the saxophone at ten, and have been playing flute and clarinet now for about six years. Following my musical education, attaining my Bachelor's of Music Performance at Ohio State University and then a Master's of Music at Western Michigan University, I worked as a musician for Royal Caribbean Cruises, performing alto saxophone, flute, and clarinet as part of the Show Band aboard the Radiance of the Seas. Instruments: Trumpet Trombone
I believe in the "dichotomy" of learning at ones own natural pace, combined with the need to cover all of the rudiments required for building the firm physical and musical foundation required for brass playing. My style and approach in lessons is to be encouraging, upbeat, enthusiastic and to always emphasize the enjoyment and fun that can be attained through good "old fashioned" hard work: Gratification that comes from appying yourself is the most fun of all - especially as you realize your goals! Instruments: Piano Trumpet
Depending on how experienced the student is, I make sure to gauge where they are at regarding music theory and music history. Although the main goal of learning an instrument is to learn how to express yourself through music, it is important to understand how we can do that by having a solid understanding of theory and history. I've found that teaching students on a week-by-week basis through exercises that I create for them has been very successful, especially since a lot of method books are very limiting, and they expect every student to be starting out with the same baseline. Instruments: Piano Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet Music Keyboard
I teach all of my students to read music starting with middle "C" on the grand staff. Knowing the keyboard/piano is a great place to start for all musicians because it shows where notes are and what they sound like in relation to each other. Lessons should progress based on a students willingness to follow directions and to practice the material that I assign them to practice. There are no shortcuts. Read More
