I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2001, I graduated from Russian Academy Of Music in Moscow with a Masters Of the Arts degree in Trumpet Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play both at the Allice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as touring the world and performing major Jazz Festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and many more. Teaching is my passion and calling, i can't think of doing anything else! In 2013 I graduated from Fairfield University with a triple major in English, Gender Studies, and Violin Performance. While studying at University I started my band with my sister, Verdigrls. We have gone on to put out an EP, play all over the NY metropolitan area as well as have our music featured in movies and television. I grew up in Gillette Wyoming playing Euphonium and Trombone, also achieving 4 years in the all state band. From there, I went to the University of North Texas, and my world grew so much larger. As the largest Euphonium studio in the world, I was blown out of the water at the ability level of the players around me. I achieved both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Euphonium performance. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop their own style in music and art. This progress happens at his or her own pace. Therefore, it is important that I set realistic goals per student. This leads to a positive teaching and learning environment. I truly believe that art, in this case music, is connected with life and therefore life is connected with art; What I am trying to say is that no matter what the level of the student is, when you teach and learn the right way, it goes way beyond music itself. I'm a passionate performer and instructor. Recently moved to Brooklyn from Montreal, where I completed my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Jazz Performance. I have performed throughtout NY, Boston, Montreal, Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick. In Montreal I had the opportunity to study and attend master classes with some of today's greatest jazz musicians. I recognize that and feel that instruction tailored to a student's individual style will make for faster and more rewarding progress. Also, I feel that a positive environment that acknowledges accomplishments with positive reinforcement makes for a stable and fun learning environment.
