I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves sharing my love of jazz with students. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance, Jazz. I have performed in South Africa and Mozambique from 2005-2012 with jazz performance ranging from small venues to larger venues with Heads of State. It has been my experience, both teaching and learning, that it is easier to get results from the student by showing them the tone you want them to produce or the articulation you desire ect. For beginners, I personally recommend the Essential Elements Book. If you are barely starting on an instrument, make sure you get book 1. Aside from the fact that I was taught with that book when I was in middle school, I taught with that particular method book to my beginners in the 2021-2022 school year. For intermediate students such as older middle school students, Essential Elements Books 2 and 3 would be my personal recommendation. Read More

16 years of playing the trumpet is the majority of my experience. Middle school, high school, and college were conventional means of education.
