I have taught in a variety of musical settings with a wide range of students and abilities. I have taught independently as well as for organizations such as the Youth Orchestra of Central NJ. In 2012 I worked for Camp Encore Coda where I taught trumpet lessons, directed the Symphonic Band, coached jazz combos, and taught music theory/musicianship class.  My experience working as full time music faculty for Camp Encore Coda sparked my graduate research on overnight summer music camp, which has since been presented at three major professional conferences in the music education field at the state, national, and international level. I break down the overall goal to a small step that is doable for the student. I am nice and patient with students, meanwhile, I insist on they accomplishing my instruction. It is fine if it takes several tries, but most importantly is that they had to try. Practicing is a way to learn from the mistake and how to avoid it. I am from Brazil and in 2014 I graduated from Sao Paulo University with a bachelor in music education. In addition, I studied trumpet at Sao Paulo Municipal Conservatory from 2015 to the end of 2017. Recently, I got approved as a graduate student in performance at Florida Atlantic University. I was trumpet lead in the symphonic band of the Sao Paulo Municipal Conservatory, and I did participations in various musical groups like Young Symphonic Band From Sao Paulo State, Guarulhos Young Orchestra, Orchestra USP Philharmonic, and also I was trumpet player in a female HipHop band form 2014 to 2017. For beginning students, i start with the fundamentals technical basics of the instrument like long notes, scales and flexibility. Once the student has progressed, i will start with Arban's method book, H.L.Clarke Technical studies for Trumpet and my own exercises. Later i will introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first performance. For adults, i try to find out what the student is interested in, and from there, use that with my instruction to keep the lessons engaging and fun for them, no matter their ability level. Read More
