Overview:
I''m from a big music family in Venezuela, and started very young in music, this is my life and love toshare all my experiences with my students. I studied and played trumpet in the world famous "El Sistema" music program (social inclussion througt the music, speciality with youth and child symphony orchestras), and later teaching the new generations there. I also studied trumpet in the conservatory and later  earned Master's degree from Simon Bolivar University. I've had the opportunity to play both, classical and popular jazz latin music around the world througt many festivals in Latin America, Europe and USA touring with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra and my band 7/4 Venezuela, with whom I performed in Berklee College of Music, Harvard University and ITG.
EXPERIENCE
As a student from El Sistema, i already start to teach very young with my own friends, part of the philosophy of El Sistema it's about grow up toghether helping us each others with the guide from our teacher. Later i began to have my own students 10 years ago. In my experience, i can say that magic tricks doesn't exist with the trumpet, it needs a lot of patience, step by step. My work it's about motivate my students, to work focus in short goals that they can do soon. This is very important for me because when they achieve their goals, then they are happy and want more of that. Without fun this is impossible, if they really enjoy play their instrument, it never looks like hard work for them. Every short goal put them closer to the big goal we are working for, like a concert and recitals. For me it's very important listening the needs of my students and work for it.
METHODS USED
For beginning students, i start with the fundamentals technical basics of the instrument like long notes, scales and flexibility. Once the student has progressed, i will start with Arban's method book, H.L.Clarke Technical studies for Trumpet and my own exercises. Later i will introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first performance. For adults, i try to find out what the student is interested in, and from there, use that with my instruction to keep the lessons engaging and fun for them, no matter their ability level.
LESSON STYLE
I believe that every student i'ts by him self or her self a big star, and I work hard to help them to shine. Nothing is more rewarding than see my students develop as big artists. I try to give them all my passion to conect them to the music as the same way I feel and live with the music. I like to teach no only just about the trumpet, but also how music is part of everithing in life, trying to inspires the students to go on, and make that dream their own. Also i like to explain how works by them self and how solve their problems by them self, thinking in all the possible solutions to their problems.
