Lessons are tailored to each individual. My teaching methods include a warm-up routine, scales, and etudes or songs from various method books, depending on the skill level of the student. Standard repertoire in classical and jazz studies is also covered. Sight-reading, improvisation, and ear-training are also a part of most lessons. I am a composer, educator, double bassist, and electric bassist from Albany, New York, currently living in Baltimore, Maryland. I studied with Kevin Puts while earning Masters Degrees in Composition and in Music Theory Pedagogy at The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. If the students have music from classes in school, I will also assist them with that. I try to keep the lesson light, and enjoyable!
