I've lived in New York City my whole life, so all of many of my artistic and professional pursuits have occurred within one of the world's most culturally diverse and skill set demanding environments. I've been studying music for 17 years and have every intention of continuing my growth as an artist, as well as an educator. As a trumpeter, I have toured the United States and performed and recorded nationwide as well as internationally. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Trumpet Keyboard Acoustic Guitar
Immediately I'd like to know why the student is pursuing the given instrument, then sort of gauge a level of passion, drive, talent, etc. and then work from there. With guitar and piano there are several routes one could choose for performance, and each one has different teaching fundamentals. Someone who gravitates more toward Jazz will need a very strong base in musical theory, where as someone who wants to play classical might need stronger technical work. Read More

My strength is my wide variety of musical experiences which I bring into every lesson. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet Music Keyboard
I teach clarinet, flute, saxophone and keyboards extensively. I offer extensive training in music theory and improvisation. I utilize piano to teach students theory. I like for my students to play a classical piece by composers such as JS Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. I allow much creativity from students and I encourage them to select their own music and take an active role in their own development. I offer students additional time every week if they need it and will change lesson times if I am notified at least one day in advance. Read More

I did my graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, as well undergraduate work at Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with my own method based on fundamental approach to trumpet playing, such as Arban, Maggio, Collin and Clark methods. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
