I started teaching when I moved to New York City for School. Teaching lessons has been very rewarding and I have seen my students grow tremendous amounts in music. I have taught all ages and have a different curriculum for different age groups. One of the main points I like to focus on is how playing music is fun and can be a tool to express ourselves. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then i'm not doing my job! Read More

In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy. I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians. My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively. In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs. I create my own custom lesson plans and materials to cater to the students needs. For young beginners, I recommend the KJOS Standard of Excellence book. Read More

My teaching style is based on a balance between fun and progression. I have a loose, fun-loving personality that can also be balanced with the seriousness to get things done. I ensure that the student knows that I care, both about their goals, and them as an individual. I use a lot of humor and wit in my lessons to help make sure my students are relaxed. I also provide critical feedback that both allows students to improve while at the same time highlight a student's strengths. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2001, I graduated from Russian Academy Of Music in Moscow with a Masters Of the Arts degree in Trumpet Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play both at the Allice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as touring the world and performing major Jazz Festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and many more. My teaching experience began during my college years, where I was granted the opportunity to work closely with young students in one on one settings as part of my practical courses, since then student teaching and a leave replacement position at Raynor Country Day School in Speonk have given me the opportunity to develop my skill set as a teacher and find new and exciting ways to challenge my students to develop as musicians. I come from a deep musical heritage and chose the trombone as my main instrument for spiritual reasons. While attending Los Angeles County High School for The Arts, I studied with jazz and trombone legends. Since moving to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, I've been studying with masters from many different disciplines. I currently live in NYC where i am studying percussion, tap dancing and yoga. My home functions perfectly as a 24 hour teaching studio. Read More
