For beginning students, I focus on the very first fundamentals of playing trombone and music which consists of simple music theory and fundamental technique of playing the trombone. Once those fundamentals are introduced and the students shows progression, I will assign etudes and solo repertoire to help improve on musicality and technique. I tend to perform for students in lessons so they can receive a better idea of how to play a specific passage as well as just playing fun pieces to get them excited in lessons. Read More

In 2017, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a dual Bachelor's Degree in Performance and Contemporary Writing in Production. Manhattan-based jazz trombonist Jimmy has a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree from the Manhattan School of Music. While at the University of Michigan, Jimmy studied under Dennis Wilson as well as Geri Allen and Bob Hurst and performed at the Detroit Jazz Festival. Upon moving to New York, Jimmy became a student of SFJazz trombonist Luis Bonilla and has performed at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, The Blue Note, Zinc Bar, Smalls, and Fat Cat as well as many other venues.
