I began teaching in 2012 as a senior in high school working at a community music school's summer arts camp in New York. I worked there for five summers as an assistant instructor. I taught beginner and intermediate French horn and trumpet lessons while working there. Many of my students, both at the camp and in my private studio have gone on to make District Bands and Honor Ensembles. I am a very dedicated and caring music teacher with 23 years of experience. I have taught students of all ages from early elementary school to senior citizens. All of my NYSSMA participating students have received scores of excellent or outstanding in Grades 1-4, and in the 90's on Levels 5 and 6. I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together.
