I'm adamant about learning exercises from the "Arbans Book". This book is essential the brass bible that teaches proper fundamental techniques while developing reading skills. We will extensively on flexibility and scales through out all stages of development as well as intonation on the instrument. I am also really detailed about developing ear training to identify notes with out use of music and vice versa. A complete musician can both read and use his trained ear. Read More

For beginner students, I typically start with the Hal Leonard Essential Elements book. For more advanced students I love using Rochut Melodious Etudes and Arban's Method book. For all students, learning and being comfortable with all scales and keys is an essential fundamental skill I teach. In general, I am open to students bringing material they wish to work on, as long as they are progressing with fundamentals at an appropriate level. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace and is learning things that interest them on a fundamental level. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More

As a musician, I've had the opportunity to play at the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, all throughout Italy, and I've toured the U.S a good amount, playing in New York City, Syracuse, Rochester, Burlington, Boston, Oswego, Delaware, Washington D.C, Los Angelos, etc. Read More

I look to be sure that each student enjoys the material as well as music as a whole. Therefore, each student should be able to progress at their own pace. As a student progresses, I do have an admittedly bad habit of speeding up material a bit too much, so I encourage all students to let me know when something is too much for them. As i look to select material, I like to do a 5 minute test run of the piece to ensure that students enjoy the material before assigning it. Read More

For my beginning students I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Then we move to the "Arban" book and eventually start working on solo rep. Another thing I like to implement is the breathing gym, which not only helps as a musician but can also assure you having clear lungs! I usually try to do fun things for example if my student is young I ask them whats their favorite pop song and I usually arrange it or find an arrangement and spend a lesson doing that, or even teaching them to learn it by ear.
