Trombone Lessons in Reynolds Corners, OH

Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba

Being a music education student, I learn about many methods of teaching that can cater to a variety of different people and musicians. I typically like to create practice sheets, so that progress can be tracked over time. Assessments will be based on effort, and minor improvements over a long period of time, as music takes a lot of patience and time to really improve! I will allow students to bring what they may want to work on, as well as recommendations from myself on some exercises/repertoire to check out. Read More

I'm a trombonist in my last semester of my Master's degree in performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan, and am so excited to share my knowledge with students of any age. I believe that music should evoke strong feelings in both the performer as well as the audience members, so my teaching approach aims to foster musicality and the love of music in all forms. I've worked on and performed just about every style of music under the sun that trombones are utilized in so I am adaptable to whatever kind of music students want to work on, not just strictly classical. There are quite a few method books that I like to use with my students. To start, I like to have students use the Beginner Rubank Method Book (the blue book) and work through this to get the basics down. After this, I like to choose some supplemental solo pieces that aren't in this book to help the students grasp the concepts that they have been working on, outside of what is shown in the book.
