This is a way to get the ear working and to have some fun with potentially the most daunting part of learning an instrument. Once we have mastered that we move to writen notation and try to match what we have been doing without the book. I taught my first lesson at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and I immediately I was drawn into teaching by the level of enthusiasm, open-mindedness, and desire to improve shown by the student. This student made rapid progress each week, and eventually was offered to go on an international tour with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp the following year.
