As a musician, one of society's ills that I became more aware of was the lack of arts education in schools. I later decided to change my major from music performance to music, school and community settings. Through lessons, I hope to help that passion blossom and teach that student how to best express themselves through music. My teaching style again goes back to finding out what and how the student wants to learn. Upon first meeting me students I like to do an informal lesson to evaluate where they are in terms of technique on their instrument, knowledge of music fundamentals (harmony, theory and rhythm).
