While at ONU, I was a member of the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, and Woodwind Ensemble. I was given opportunities to perform in these various ensembles on clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and flute. I served as the principal clarinet of the Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, Instrumental Music Librarian, Wind Orchestra Ensemble Manager, and Wind Orchestra Assistant Conductor. Due to the fact that I teach students with drastically different age and ability levels, lessons are catered to each individual student's needs. In general, I try to structure the lesson in such a way that it can serve as a blueprint for at-home practice. We will usually start with some kind of warm-up exercise, move to technical/flexibility development, followed by repertoire and etudes. I have a very energetic and adaptable teaching style. Having worked with students from 3 years old to in their 30's, I can mold lessons to fit any type of attention span. I have also worked with students with special education needs and physical issues, so I can also work with parents to find ways for any student, regardless of their situation, to enjoy a life of music.
