For over 25 years, I have taught group and private music lessons in public schools, studios, colleges, pre-schools and seniors. I have a graduate degree in music where I studied teacher research, global music, community arts, and students with special needs. I started my music studies in flute and I teach flute lessons for any playing level. If a student is 3rd grade or younger, I offer the recorder as an introductory instrument to all wind instruments. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. To me as a musician, teaching is as important and as necessary to our art as performing, and it is always a joy to share that art with students. I graduated from Kent State University in 2015 with my Bachelor of Science in Music Education, followed by a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance in 2019, and recently completed an Artist Diploma from UC-CCM. Although a bassoonist primarily, I've performed with orchestras such as the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and the Warren Philharmonic, as well as bands like the Akron Symphonic Winds, the Cleveland Winds, and the Packard Band.
