Rodolfo is music director of Vázquez & Ferguson (Silver & Spruce) and El Cálido Viento. He has been awarded three times by the Ohio Arts Council and eleven times by the Greater Columbus Arts Council for CD recordings of Latin American, classical, original music and for chamber music recitals in Franklin County, OH USA. He has studied with the world renowned Irish flutist Sir James Galway who wrote of Rodolfo: “Your music is charming and beautifully played.”In August 2006 and then again in August 2008 he participated in the Sir James Galway International Flute Masterclass in Interlaken and Weggis, Switzerland performing with the Sir James Galway Flute Choir both times. I love the flute and the piccolo, and sharing my passion with students. I have a doctorate and a masters in flute performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I have been on the University of Dayton music faculty since 2015, as Flute Instructor and Director of Flute Ensemble. I have a non-traditional background in science, holding a bachelors in physics from Harvard University. My first teaching experience came in the summer of 2008, when I served as the Music Director at Camp Robin Rogers in Spencerville, Ohio, a program serving children with developmental disabilities. This wonderful experience reaffirmed my belief that anyone, regardless of age or ability, can learn to make music. We are all different. Each student has their own pace of learning. So, I encourage this with setting up realistic goals for each student. Every lesson, I write memos about assignemnts, and student's progress compare to previous lesson/week. Therefore, students and parents will receive "Progress Results" in every four lessons.
