In 2014, I began taking orchestral auditions to be a solo concert saxophonist and got the opportunity to perform under former Philadelphia Orchestra assistant conductor, Maestro Luis Biava. Since then I have been a part of several world premieres of contemporary chamber and concert music and have had the opportunity to perform in venues such as the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Trinity Center for Urban Life in Philadelphia, PA; the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, and Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN. I am currently working towards my master's in saxophone performance at the Hartt School of Music, so I am relatively new to the greater Hartford area. Proper technique, learning the notes, and learning how to practice effectively is a great place to start. Even ten minutes a day is better than not practicing. Making lessons fun and giving students tools to bring home is very important to me. The Essential Elements works great for younger beginners, where the Rubank books are more suited for older or very disciplined students.
