I have 7 years teaching both in a private studio setting and in group/ensemble setting. I teach piano, saxophone, flute, and clarinet, to all levels and ages. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and this makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

One of the unique experiences I offer is the opportunity to try multiple instruments in a single lesson. Whether its drums, piano, guitar, bass, saxophone, or even music production, students can discover what truly excites and motivates them. I believe music is like a language. Once you understand its core principles, you gain the freedom to express yourself across different instruments. My goal is to help each student build that strong foundation, then guide them as they dive deeper into mastering the instrument that speaks to them most. Read More

First, I will ask my student what they want to do today. We are all subject to feeling differently about certain subjects every day and for example, might feel more inclined to learn scales one day and then maybe learn about the history of Jazz music another day, so it's my job to cater to those desires and let the student dictate the path our lessons take. I'm solely here for the student and not any self interest. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
I began teaching when I was in college around the age of 18. I started with a small group of only a few kids and later advanced to teaching over two dozen per week. I was also offered the position of saxophone instructor at my high school's band camp for three consecutive Summers. In that setting, I coached all 20 kids in a classroom at once and helped them on the field with memorizing their steps and music. Read More

With private students, I customize my teaching methods to how each student best learns. I have several methods to teach most music concepts and saxophone technique so that I can better connect with each student’s learning style. I find students have a more enjoyable experience when I give them the chance to learn what they would like to play. For jazz students, I first have them identify a musician they enjoy listening to and begin exploring what makes that player unique. Read More

I love to see my students get excited about music! I try to ignite the flame and get them to develop an interest of their own. Music should be a fun and positive part of our lives. While it's important to have fun, I also make sure students are gaining a solid foundation in the technical facility of the instrument. The sooner we can navigate the instrument without limitations, the sooner we can focus on the music itself! I like to incorporate duets, popular music, ear training, notation, and spontaneity in lessons. Read More
