Overview:

I started playing saxophone when I was 7 years old. Now I have more than 20 years of performance experience. I have both a bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Conservatory of Music in classical music and a master’s degree from California Institute of Arts in jazz. I can play all kinds of music and make a good balance between classical music and jazz music. In China, I have participated in many orchestras and held the position of chief saxophone player. At the same time, I have performance with many national players. I not only have enough experience in saxophone playing but also I am good at jazz composition and music production. I can use all kinds of music software, such as Sibelius, Logic Pro, ProTools. I love music. It's a part of my life for me. Concerts accompany me all my life.

EXPERIENCE

I have many years of experience in on-site and online teaching.Since 2008, I have been teaching students. I have taught students from the age of 8 to 40. I understand that the teaching methods are different at different ages, including the relationship and communication between teachers and students. It depends on the specific situation of each student. Of course, I have a set of mature teaching methods. From 0 to 10, I will teach different practice methods and skills at each stage. At the same time, I think a good music education is not only to learn how to play an instrument. At the same time, we should also know how to enjoy music. In the process of my teaching, I will take time to develop the children’s music appreciation. Let them love music, so that they will take the initiative and happy to learn how to play musical instruments. I believe that I have the conditions to be a good teacher: patience, dedicated, professional, like my students.

METHODS USED

For the stage of 0-3, I will select some basic courses in Yamaha. In this way, students can learn to play simple sentences first. Among them, I will teach some music theory knowledge as an assistant. The most important thing is to cultivate good music sense in this stage. In the stage of 4-7, students have a good foundation and music sense In this stage, in addition to the necessary basic exercises and skills learning, encouraging creativity is the focus of this stage. In each week's course, we will select some tracks or questions to focus on discussing it. Establish a sound music system practice. Finally, at the senior level, I will give some of the options back to the students. I hope that this stage is more like a process of communication Is the process of guidance. Besides, I'd like to talk about teaching children a semester alone. I always think children's education is a special subject. We know that practice is boring, and many children give it up in the process. My idea is that in the course of treating children, learning musical instruments is the second. The first is to build confidence and interest. It will be much easier in the future.

LESSON STYLE

I think the most important thing for a teacher is to have good communication, patience, and guidance. Let the students grow up under proper pressure. My teaching center is to train every student to think and create music itself. I think music theory and all kinds of instruments are tools to express music. It is my goal to teach students how to use music theory and their instruments to build music ideas, and guide students to view the world in the way of music ideas and build their own music palace.
