Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I have been playing music for as long as I can remember and teaching it since high school. In 2012, I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelors degree in Music Education with a dual focus in Jazz Studies. During that time, I had the chance to perform with artist like Branford Marsalis, Benny Golson, Nicolas Peyton and the renowned Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. After graduating, I moved to Arizona to begin working as a band and general music teacher in the Phoenix area. Read More

I am a multiple woodwind performer and an educator with a strong European background in music theory, aural skills, and music history. I hold BM and MM in saxophone performance and recently graduated with my second MM in multiple woodwind performance and pedagogy. I am a very passionate teacher with years of experienced. I also stay active as a performer which I believe is a very important aspect of a good pedagogue. Read More

For piano students, I like to use the Alfred courses. This method is great because they have courses of study for all ages and levels, and students can progress through several courses throughout their study. For flute/clarinet students, I like to start with either Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or the Rubank methods books. Once students have moved beyond the basics, I like to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their level. Read More

Music education creates students that leave the classroom with an appreciation for music, creating an environment where students not only want to enjoy music, but also have the desire to create and the passion to educate others through music. This becomes increasingly difficult to achieve, however, when music education is often not even remotely accessible. It is an unfortunate reality that music is a subject that requires a lot of initial investment - students and their parents must find an instrument for them to play, the proper equipment (such as mouthpieces, reeds, strings, etc.) for them to be successful, music for them to play, and an instructor that is knowledgeable in their particular instrument. My goal in teaching is to help the student develop confidence by developing skill as a musician. Once the student realizes how to gain confidence through practice, he or she will create a healthy habit of successful learning that can transfer to any field of education. Read More

I'm a passionate and curious musician. I'm self-taught in the styles of classical and jazz from when I picked up the clarinet I found at a Salvation Army at the age of 10. I taught myself until I started college and studied with Kelly Lake, Stephanie Gardner, Jeff Quamo and Cris Inguanti at NAU. While working toward receiving my Masters in Clarinet performance at NAU, I taught music theory and aural perception at the undergraduate level. In addition to teaching I've had two pieces written and recorded for me along with a couple tracks on a comedian's recent albums. Read More
