My experience as a private instructor began as early as when I was a student in college studying music. I have always had a profound passion for teaching at the private level because it really gives me the opportunity to help an individual in a more focused and meticulous manner. I've always believed that music is much more than just reading notes off a book, but have understood that music has many different dimensions, including being able to feel what you're playing, your natural music inclination, your ability to listen meticulously to your sound and your pitch and so many others. When I started my piano lessons, I worked mostly with the Hanon exercises. Since this book has always been essential material to my learning, I will use this book to teach the beginning students and show them that exercises can also be fun and enjoyable to play, as I find them to be. As the student begins to dominate the basics of piano, I will introduce simple and easy pieces of Classical Music that will not only be fundamental to the beginner student's learning but also of the students liking; this way the learning will also be enjoyable and fun. It has been a constant argument in music teaching that only a select few possess musical talent, and only they in turn should learn music. This is also my belief and philosophy that I hope to exemplify with my students. Read More

My method for all my students is for them to be classically trained so learning the notes on the fretboard, proper technique and note reading. I use Christopher Parkening's Guitar method Book I to help my students learn the proper technique to play and for them to learn the notes in first position on the guitar and on the staff and beginner chord reading using chord diagrams at first and then showing them the chords on the staff. I generally do not teach directly from a book. I only use them as guides. I always felt that was the lazy way of doing things. A book doesn't know the student. I find that students of any age, learn and adapt to teaching in different ways and speeds. I start from the very bottom and we build every lesson, using previous lessons as building blocks. I take pride in teaching the way that works best for you or your child. Read More

I'm a pianist, I've been playing playing the piano since I was 10 years old, currently 25 years old. A major highlight in my musical education was attending the high school for performing and visual arts in Houston Texas where I studied under Mr. Morales who shares my last name. I've performed with various chamber groups but I have spent my time mostly doing solo work. I consider myself primarily as a classical musician though I do enjoy various genres of music like jazz, and blues. Read More
