I’ve been teaching in some capacity for over 7 years. Currently, I teach private clarinet lessons full time to over 50 wonderful students. Also, I lead sectionals at several area schools and work with the nationally ranked Avon High School marching band. I encourage students to set their own specific goals to work towards. Above all, I aim to make lessons fun and positive so students enjoy learning and playing their instrument! Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons. I have been consistently teaching piano students in my home studio for the last 5 years. I use practice incentives to encourage regular practice as it helps students progress. My studio hosts a yearly recital where students can showcase their talent for family and friends. I incorporate music theory and history into each leason as well as composition. Read More

For piano, I typically use the Faber Piano Adventures Series; however, I am open to other method books as well. The Faber series has theory, technique, lesson, and performance books, each with different skills and techniques to learn. I find that those books offer the most comprehensive learning. In addition to the Faber books, I also utilize online worksheets for supplemental learning. For guitar, I typically use online worksheets and chord sheets, and from there, I encourage students to purchase specific guitar books they are interested in (for example, Disney books, classic rock books, Beatles books, etc.). My teaching experience with guitar goes back to about age 14, when I was understanding and advancing faster than others around me or someone would ask me for advice or help. I never had the chance nor opportunity to advance my studies to get a degree. Thoughout all these years it has been shown that some gifts are certainly not to be taken advantage of. Read More

The art form of music is both a cerebral and deepy visceral experience. And thus so I invite students to journey outward and inward to begin (or continue) studying music from both a scholastic perspective as well as treating the art form as a purely aural experience. My teaching studio enables students to take home recordings of themselves so they have an audible track record of their progress. Every student learns differently, and is born with inherently different strengths, weaknesses, rhythms, and song. Read More

I am a professional pianist with a passion for educating the audiences of tomorrow. As I am completing my doctoral coursework at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music this Spring, I am seeking to expand my studio and reallocate a larger portion of my time to teaching. I have studied piano since the age of three, and have performed publicly since the age of eleven. By the age of fourteen, I earned the American College of Musicians National Level performance certificate. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Flute
As an adult, I have taken pedagogy with the head of the pedagogy department at Olivet Nazarene University, Piano from Dr. Karen Ball, flute from Gary Schocker, and voice lessons from members of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Always looking to improve myself through individual study, I also get excited when I learn things from my students. Music is such an exciting field to be involved in and my teaching studio reflects that - I teach many different styles, curriculums, and provide many opportunities for sharing our music outside the studio.
