In 2009, I graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in Keyboards Performance. I teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers ages 4 5. This method gives them a head-start in math as well as patterning. I start beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) with Faber's Piano Adventures. I introduce intermediate students to Alfred's Premier Piano Course as this method starts them on solo repertoire. I individualize my teaching methods for each student based on their ability level. After I assess the ability level, I find level-appropriate method books, scale studies, etudes, tone exercises, sight reading, and solo repertoire. I use method books that I am personally familiar with and like, but am open to looking for new, exciting options. I first started music at a young age through my local church; my first instrument being flute. I studied flute for many years before taking formal voice lessons. This led me to become a voice performance major at the Manhattan School of Music, where I sang lead roles in and outside of the school. In addition, I continued my flute studies as well as strengthen my piano skills.
