Instruments: Viola
I am a creative and motivational music teacher who loves helping students discover the power or music and performance. In 2020 I graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Minor in music theory. My music career spans back to 2011 where I classically trained in viola for 8 years traveling all over the world to perform in ensembles. During the past four years I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge with students and helping them cultivate their musical foundations and skills. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I have been teaching students since the age of fifteen, accommodating every age between four and sixty-five. I have maintained a private studio for the past five years, before which I taught at the Florida State Summer Music Festival for intermediate and advanced pianists, delivering practice coaching, masterclasses, applied lessons, and lectures. I have taught group classes at Indiana University at every level the university offers, from complete adult beginners to graduate music majors. Read More
Instruments: Violin
I have toured for the past eleven years as a soloist and chamber musician. I am grateful for every opportunity to play with musicians and family alike and value balance in every aspect of life. A curious soul and avid seeker of this wondrous yet somewhat elusive construct, I continue to leap for it (in full congruency with the stars) in all that I do to carry me into the depths of the imagination that circumnavigates the luminosity of the present moment! Instruments: Clarinet
Each one of my students receives highly individualized and personalized lesson plans. I work closely with the student (and/or their parent) to discuss their goals and aspirations for clarinet lessons. From these discussions I will develop personalized lesson plans to help them reach their goals. In all of my lessons I emphasize the use of fundamentals to develop technique. Without the proper foundation it is impossible to develop the skills necessary to become successful clarinetists. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons. I have been consistently teaching piano students in my home studio for the last 5 years. I use practice incentives to encourage regular practice as it helps students progress. My studio hosts a yearly recital where students can showcase their talent for family and friends. I incorporate music theory and history into each leason as well as composition. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Classical Guitar
Because most of my students are beginners, I typically start with very simple tunes intended to get their hands comfortable with the instrument, and to help them start reading music. After those are mastered, we move on to more complex pieces with greater technical demands. I am always willing to help students learn songs that they are interested in playing. This may not be possible immediately in all cases, depending on the student's skill level. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Flute
I use many different methods, and I do not limit myself to the following list. I believe in a warm-up for all instruments, so each lesson will start with one (scales, long tones, etc.) For flute, I often start with either the book that comes with the rental book, old band books, etc. then I venture off into etude books, long tone books, and solos that promote individual development. Voice students will start with warm up exercises that help them find the placement of the voice and often, depending on why they are taking voice, there is a song that I pick and a song they pick.
