I began teaching in 2000, and since then have taught saxophones, flute, clarinet, improvisation, chord theory, piano / keyboard, basic music understanding to young children in a classroom setting, and coached worship teams and group seminars to all ages. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance in violin and harp with a minor in piano. I do insist that each student practice one to two hours a day based on what they are taught. This includes, but is not limited to finger exercises, drills, posture and any thing that will make playing better for them. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Bastien Piano Basics, Faber Piano Adventures, Alfred's Basic Piano Library etc. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I graduated from Carroll University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Liberal Arts, and have performed as principal flute for an international music project between Carroll University, Marquette, UW Milwaukee, and multiple Italian conservatories all throughout Italy, Germany, and Austria.
