I was awarded as Best Musical Actress by HOLA 2020 in the production of El Barbero de Sevilla with New Camerata Opera in the role of Elena. In April 2020 I was to make my debut as Frasquita in Carmen at Rose Theater at Lincoln Center with MasterVoices which was canceled due to COVID19. You cannot expect to learn a music skill and be able to use it without practice. This is like a marathon runner who cannot expect to run far without training. Much of the frustration students find when it comes to improvement comes from the misunderstanding that something learned in music stays learned. They were not piano majors, but still I wanted them to be able to think like pianists, which would be extremely beneficial for their future musical career. My goal is always to make students self-sufficient. I want students to be able to warm-up, practice and improve on their own. I did not become a great singer until I learned how to workout problems for myself. I also want to see students gain confidence and believe that they can perform in public and accomplish their singing goals.
