Immediately I'd like to know why the student is pursuing the given instrument, then sort of gauge a level of passion, drive, talent, etc. and then work from there. With guitar and piano there are several routes one could choose for performance, and each one has different teaching fundamentals. Someone who gravitates more toward Jazz will need a very strong base in musical theory, where as someone who wants to play classical might need stronger technical work. Read More

I grew up in Naples, Italy and I started playing drums since I was about 5. By the time I was 14 I was already playing in the national music scene. After moving to study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam (NL) at 18, I quickly started to be part of a more intrnational scene, and by the time I got a scholarship to pursue my second Master degree at Manhattan School of Music in New York, I was already starting playing with some of the most prominent names of the music scene. I first started teaching in 2008 in Paris, for groups of 10 students. I have had 3-5yo classes, 6-8 and 9 to 12. It was a very enriching experience to teach for such a young age, and very challenging to have so many students in the same class room! I have since then moved to New York City, and have been teaching one on one lessons for piano, guitar and voice. I adapt to the student's needs and interests. Read More

I'm a very optimistic person. I like to inspire my students, and watch them have fun and grow! Lessons should be a fun thing to look forward to. As a kid, I had many lessons and teachers that I did not enjoy going to, and I don't want that to be the case for my lessons. Learning a new musical skill is fun, and really fulfilling, and I want my students to feel that way when they work with me. Read More

I love seeing my students develop a passion for music! That is why I make sure each student progresses at their own pace by setting realistic goals for each lesson. I always acknowledge a student when they practice very hard and ask great questions. By understanding what the student wants out of the lesson, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I recently have been teaching elementary general music as well as directing a middle school choir and orchestra. Read More

For any students, my method has always been consistent with all types of music. I always ask my students to know what type of music they are most interested in performing, so that I can help them better by giving them lessons that will surely have them perform with ease. In general, after I get to know my students, I help them read notes. And as we progress, I help them study some vocalises and Italian songs for beginners. Read More
