Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet Ukulele
For the Clarinet, I typically use The Hendrickson Method book series with supplemental books on the side to enhance their various levels. For flute and saxophone, I will evaluate based on the student's level. Once I have established a method book, I incorporate solos and additional techniques. I also encourage the students to bring music from their band class and/or other solos they may be working on for festivals, competitions, or auditions. Read More

I'm a patient and experienced teacher who wants to help every student enjoy playing piano! I make a point of listening to students and trying to match a method and music to their needs and goals. I love to teach keyboard skills, and to make reading music easier for students so they can become independent learners and musicians. I have a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy Performance, and over 25 years of teaching experience. Read More

My approach to teaching is to make lessons fun and enjoyable in a comfortable and relaxed setting to allow the student fullconcentration on each lesson. But, also to provide the necessary guidance and encouragement to challenge and motivate students to improve and develop natural strengths and new skills. I have a good selection of method books and materials to fit each student's level of musicianship and choice of playing style(s) to extend upon their interests and goals. Read More
Instruments: Piano Clarinet Recorder Bassoon
I began teaching while at music college, and soon found that I enjoyed imparting my love of music to others more than I enjoyed performing myself! I have been teaching private lessons at home and in students’ homes for 10 years. I taught classroom music in school in the UK for 5 years before my move to the USA. I like to allow my teaching style and repertoire to be somewhat directed by the student, while making sure that the music they are playing is a suitable difficulty and teaching them a rounded technique. I’m fully vaccinated and will teach in person with both students and teacher fully masked. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My teaching style is instruction, encouragement and assignment. I will teach a concept and then encourage the student as they attempt to master the skill. I will then assign that concept and skill as homework. After the student masters that concept I will introduce another concept that builds upon the previous one. During each quarter of the year a piece of music is assigned where those concepts are necessary to perform the piece. Read More
