Over five years of teaching experience. Lessons are in your home. I come to you! I give lessons all around the Raleigh - Chapel Hill area!
I've been a music lover for as long as I can remember. I began playing guitar at age 13 and have continued to play for the past eleven years. I have been in numerous bands and played hundred of shows in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and all around the state. I play acoustic and electric guitar as well as keyboard-piano. I have years of experience giving guitar lessons as well as recording music in my studio. I've had the opportunity to play venues such as Cat's Cradle, Local 506, The Station, Kings, etc.
I began giving guitar lessons to students six years ago. I have a lot of patience and go a long way to make sure my students are learning as well as having fun! I have been told I am very encouraging and kind. I'm looking for students of all ages and skill level! I have developed many different strategies that allow me to teach a diverse range personalities and music styles. I have a different approach to all of my students and am happy to work on any style of music they may be interested in. Right now my youngest student is 7 and oldest is 28.
For beginning students, I begin with basic open chords and scales. Once the student has basic chords down I like to teach them a song of there choosing. I found this to be one of the most rewarding experiences when I began taking lessons. For adults, I like to hear any ideas they may have and give my input and direction. I work hard to keep lessons engaging for adults, I like to think every student can learn something new every lesson! I want each student to learn the types of music they want to play (rock, jazz, blues, folk, etc.)
I strive to make my students as passionate about music as I am! I encourage students to try their best and reach they accomplishments. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student reach their personal goals. I use my own methods and the students desires to create a personal lesson plan. I realize each student has a different learning style so I will always asses the best way to teach them using a variety of materials. For young students, I like to make charts and teach them chords and techniques in a visual way.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
