My style is open minded. I first try to know the students' goals and prepare a course of action accordingly. Then I try to know how much the students already knows and how much talent they have. That allows me to determine how fast I may go with them or how much I must drill and develop a particular skill before going on. I always like to know what is the goal of each of my students. What style or genre they like as well as if they are aiming to be a solo performer or part of a band or ensemble. I like to start students on method books such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this will teach students basic music theory as well as how to read on a staff. At Suffolk College, I played saxophone, which lead to starting a rb band with some of my fellow musicians on campus. I then later accomplished many things while in Houston, Texas (where I previously lived) including live concert performances with the William Byrd Institute, instruction under renowned professors of music, and starting my own private home based lessons.
