I have different ways for different students. I will try to know how many students understand piano to avoid teaching the same things they already know. And help them find an adaptive way to practice to avoid boredom in learning. I will check and point out what's wrong and help students to fix and give new knowledge. I always teach as many as I can in every lesson. There is a goal for every student for their studying and in each lesson, there is a small goal to get. Read More

Everything I have done has made me into the teacher I am: caring, encouraging, a bit tough at times, but always positive. I've had many different types of teachers, so I know how important it is to enforce discipline, but to be kind. Read More

I love working with any person that is interested in learning. I work as a substitute teacher during the day teaching various subjects. I have ran my own school and taught music as one of the subjects at the school. I am very patient and passionate with anyone that proves to me that they are really interested in learning. In the past, I have had the opportunity to play with l professional musicians while playing in the United States Navy Band. Read More

As a teacher nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students love and grow in their passion for music and the piano! I want them to feel like they are continuing to enjoy it most while growing at their own pace. It is important that we set goals so that we can continue seeing progress in their growth. The lessons I plan out for them are geared towards their continued progress in theory, technique, performance and scale work. Read More

Alfred Publishing piano courses (both older and newer), Faber and Faber, Bastien, Edna Mae Burnam, and the Hal Leonard course have all been among my pre-published methods that I have used over the years. I have also adopted some technic content from elsewhere. For example, the Zion Conservatory of Music, where I taught from 2004 to 2018, uses a couple of different customized scale patterns for first- and second-year students. A book I have used with intermediate students is a Conus Russian piano method edited by James and Susan McKeever, who taught the Parkside piano pedagogy courses. Read More

Michael Aaron Piano Courses for children and adults had usually proven a good start for piano lessons. Sometimes, a student will need something other than a method book: I will then personally design a program for them based on the way in which they assimilate information and translate that into musical understanding and technique. It is normally a combination of internet information and my personal compositions. For voice, I use no specific published method course. Read More
