Dennis H. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moody Bible Institute of Chicago in Bible and Theology and has studied Piano Pedagogy and Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He first privately studied piano with Mrs. Ethel Cliff Stried, a Zion Conservatory of Music graduate, from 1979 to 1989. I began teaching privately during the spring of 2018. I taught private orchestral percussion and drum set lessons at my home studio as well as high schools in the area. Since then, I accepted a position as a summer music instructor at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, IL. I play in a wide variety of diverse musical groups on various instruments. I have performed with orchestras, big bands, and jazz combos as well as funk, hip hop, and even metal bands, all at a professional level. Although trombone is my main instrument, it has given me the solid foundation to play euphonium and tuba at a high level as well. My strong background in guitar also gave me the skills to learn ukulele, which now make up almost half of my lessons taught. Read More

Pairing our voice with our physical movements to interpret what is on the page at an early stage of learning provides a solid foundation on which to grow musically.
