Instruments: Piano
Im experienced in both private and group settings. My private lessons have focused on tailored programs to raise the students aptitude and proficiency in their piano playing. I have successfully guided many of my students to outstanding exam results in well recognized music examination boards such as RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and Trinity College London. My group lessons have targeted younger piano players to grow their musical potential by learning, performing, and enjoying music through programs like Music for Young Children (MYC). Read More

During a typical lesson I will hear the pieces my student was practicing the week before, make corrections or suggestions and have them play the piece again. Then I will assign them new pieces and have them play through them making sure they understand what to do and explaining any new concepts and giving suggestions on how to practice. As the students get more advanced I will also have them play scales andexercises and have them work out of a theory book. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels with a focus on a variety of styles for drumset. My extensive background in performance of Rock, Country, Jazz, Funk, etc. provides the flexibility to focus on each students particular area of interest. I believe in helping students understand the basics of theory and technique to ensure there is a foundation to practice and maximize improvement. I have a very calm and friendly teaching style that promotes positive reinforcement and helps each student realize their unique skills. Read More

My teaching methods are centered around a structured approach that respects each student's individuality, goals, and learning styles. I have developed a comprehensive guitar learning resource, which I continuously update. This resource is organized into a 1-10 level system, with each level presenting increasingly advanced material. This progression ensures that students are always learning something new and making connections to previously acquired knowledge. Each level includes professionally crafted sheet music and tablature, technical exercises, songs, images, and charts, as well as backing tracksboth guitar-only and full band trackscreated by me. I want my students to do the best they can, and I greatly love seeing there progress and development for the music they love to hear. My style is always been cool, calm, and patience since I know things take time to developed that I understanding of a point takes awhile to sink in. So encouraging my student work at it little by little in a natural way, giving them the praise they need for all they work and practice will brings their love to continue on. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
My voice and piano studio teaching had it genesis in 1985 with a private home studio in Chicago. Since then, I have taught in church programs (choral students working on solo voice) as well as in the university setting (student teaching and TA voice class support). I have also led seminars in Group Voice and Cantor Training for Church and Liturgy and Worship. Wherever you are at, we accept, as a dual-team, and then, collectively design a way to help you achieve what it is you desire. Read More

Alfred Publishing piano courses (both older and newer), Faber and Faber, Bastien, Edna Mae Burnam, and the Hal Leonard course have all been among my pre-published methods that I have used over the years. I have also adopted some technic content from elsewhere. For example, the Zion Conservatory of Music, where I taught from 2004 to 2018, uses a couple of different customized scale patterns for first- and second-year students. A book I have used with intermediate students is a Conus Russian piano method edited by James and Susan McKeever, who taught the Parkside piano pedagogy courses. Read More
