First and foremost my method of teaching are nearly based upon my own teachers teaching style, which was using a small material to teach everything on it. Example, I would take a small little line or phrase of music, I would teach them the construct of rhythm, time, tempo, the style, articulation, and then apply the exercises or fudamentals around learning how to play the line properly. Hello! My name is Kathryn and I am currently a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire studying Vocal Performance. I have been taking private voice lessons for 5 years of my own, and will be graduating this coming Fall 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. Shortly thereafter, I'm attending Graduate School to pursue a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance. From there I try and let the students' own interest in music guide other parts of practice. With strings I like to start out with the Hal Leonard beginning books to get the basics of reading music. From there I couple learning popular tunes the student picks with developing method books to maintain a strong fundamental of playing. Read More

Dennis H. has accompanied the Bethel College Women’s Choir on tour, Moody voice students, and Christian Youth Theater productions of “Annie”, “Narnia” and “The Little Princess”. As a past member of Frizane Music Ministries, he has entertained the public at Chicago’s Daley Plaza and in Independence Day parades in Elmwood Park, as well as several retirement communities. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 10 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument.
