I believe that each student is unique, and what works for one student might not be sutiable for another. This is because they will most likely stay engaged and develop a passion for pieces they find enjoyable. For beginners, I start with the Michael Aaron Piano Course books. Technique such as finger placement, body mechanics, and scales are interwoven to increase proficiency.  I have been teaching in the Columbus area for 14 years.  I have studied piano and voice for 30 years performing and had experience auditioning for and performing in musical theater, opera, and contemporary settings. After earning my degree from otterbein, I have maintained a studio of 25-30 students in the westerville/New Albany area.  I currently reside with my husband and three children, three dogs, and a cat in New Albany where we run one location of my studios. As I went off to Ohio State for college I considered pursuing a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance, but after being accepted into the program and spending my freshman year in the school of music, I decided that I wanted other things from college and that my musical career would not require such a degree.
