I approach teaching like nursing a baby ,u care for the baby,u feed the baby when hungry,u cover the babies body from catching cold , you teach the baby how to eat ,u hug the baby when he or she start crying, when she wants to go put her hand in the fire u stop her and tell her in advance what she’s going to experience.when she’s 18 you start to tell her to set goals and always drive hard to achieve them ,you tell her to never give up and be distracted by boys, you’d tell to always keep learning in life because the day you stop learning you start dying. Music has been a passion of mine from age 6. I got my start playing the piano with friends trying to figure out the music from Super Mario 64. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't picked up an instrument of some kind. It's been a goal of mine to learn as many instruments as possible throughout my life and focus on the instruments I love. I've been able to learn the piano, organ, all kinds of guitars, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, percussion instruments, and vocals. Read More

I teach mostly Classical up to advanced level, jazz for begginers and also Klezmer and Folk styles. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing any of my students develop a passion for music and especially the style he loves. For example Classical period of XIX century or traditional Klezmer European style. There is always a challenge to choose good repertoire and teaching methods to each individual student. Seeing them grow is one of the best reward of this job. Read More

I am mainly using Alfred's Premier Piano series in my curriculum for beginning students who are children. I include material from other method books that help meet the needs I want for my students. It is very important for any student at any level to have a strong technical foundation starting with proper posture and hand shape. When learning new songs and pieces, I start off with aural experiences for the students, especially when rhythm is difficult. Read More

I, above all, want students to develop their own love and appreciation for music. I have high expectations in y studio, but I make it clear that students will progress at different speeds and that’s okay. Every week I give a set of warm-ups and exercises to focus on and expect students to practice so we can hone them when we’re together, but I’ll never ask a student to do something they’re not comfortable or familiar with - if ever there’s a question I’m there to answer or demonstrate. I have taught siblings in a class type setting. I have taught preschoolers at preschool. I have taught Little Mozarts to little ones. I use music in the homes already, sometimes I provide things from the 50s that my aunt and uncle scribbled in: leila Fletcher, Edna Mae Burnam, classical composers-mozart, debussy, chopan, clementi, beethoven, bach. Sometimes I provide my own children's music books, Faber and Faber, Bastien, Alfred. I have taught preschool through adults.I substitute teach and have included composers in my repertoire. Read More

I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! Music is fun! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
