I'm originally from California and graduated from Marin School of the Arts, a well-known performing arts high school. I recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Trumpet Performance and Music Production. Getting to travel and perform live for large audiences has been some of my most exciting and fulfilling experiences, as well as getting to perform in venues that my heroes have played in. Venues like The SF Jazz Center, The Royale Boston, The Road Runner Boston and Stone Pony NJ, are all venues that have been a center of great music over the years that I've had the pleasure of performing at. My teaching experience back in the day was when I started working as a music teaching assistant more than 20 years ago. I will pay attention to the kids who were not be in learning music. That's what I thought, and I know I'll have to slow down and find the way that influencing their study or if they just want to be more active instead of sitting around. It would be helpful if I suggested to parents encouraging their kid(s) to put themselves joining on recitals at least once a year to create excitement, confidence and competitiveness. Read More

For younger beginning students, I typically use a method book, such as Accent on Achievement or something similar. For older beginners, I typically use the Rubank beginner's book. With this book, the student learns the fundamentals for their instrument. Once the student demonstrates an understanding of this, we will move on to sheet music. For more advanced students, we will typically use an etude book like Klose to explore the technical aspects of musical performance (such as technique development, phrasing, dynamics, etc.). Read More
