I have been experiencing the love of playing and performing music for 40 years and still find it challenging to this day. Music is a journey of the senses which can open and expand our minds.For the first 11 years of my musical journey, I journeyed hours and hours in the discovery of the rhythms, notes and expression but I journeyed in solitude.What a wonderful joy wasawaiting me when I discovered how much fun it was to make music as part of an ensemble or as I like to think of it, a team.A musical team can be a band, an orchestra, a chorus, a churchchoir,a quartet, ora duet, and in all cases it is exhilarating to make music with other people.I hope that I can guide and encourage my students to learn to enjoy this journey that can provide a life time of adventure, social interaction and creativity. In 2010, I graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music. During my time at PC, I sang and accompanied the Presbyterian College Choir, Cantare! As a freshman in my music education program, I volunteered to be the music director and conduct the orchestra for a production of The Addams Family Musical. My teaching experience dates back to high school, when I helped others prepare for their vocal performances in our school competitions. Upon beginning my college career as a musical theatre major, I began to have many fellow students come to me for audition help and vocal training. I realized the value that one-on-one musical instruction can have not only for others, but for me as well. I started teaching in high school and fell in love with it. After college I moved around a bit and spent time developing playing by ear. Now I am settled and loving teaching! I really strive to develop a fun relationship with my students (especially the younger ones) because nobody is going to practice if they aren't having a good time at the lesson!
