My style is largely theory and hard technique based. I know that every student is very different and will have a different optimal technique. Whether that means I need to teach a rock student fingerstyle or hybrid picking to master a song with fast arpeggiations, or maybe figure out that someone with small hands must move their left thumb down a little bit to hit a cross-neck chord in a classical song, for instance, I personally believe that everyone is going to play a little differently to achieve the same results. Currently, my teaching experience involves substituting for a drum class in one of the New York City boroughs, and assisting musicians or other campers when needed at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts when I worked there as a Music Staff Intern. I have worked with multiple teachers throughout my musical journey and experience, and I have since picked up the teaching styles and methods that they taught me. I create custom lesson plans for each student based on their level, interests and goals. Typically I start brand new beginners with the basics, learning the parts of the instruments and the notes. Being a very visual learner myself, I enjoy using method books such as the Sassmannshaus series, as they are beautifully illustrated and help to capture and hold young children's attention.
