Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I teach my students to be self sufficient and to problem solve by themselves. By doing this it allows the student to make logical decisions and corrections in their own practice so they can establish routines of their own. I want all students to be able to evaluate their own performances so they can use their own individual practice time efficiently.
