Students learn at different rates, so, therefore, I want each student to progress at his or her own pace, without comparison to where my other students may be at. I want learning an instrument to be an enjoyable experience, and though the student may have to do and play practices, exercises, and pieces that they may not necessarily enjoy in the moment, it will all be beneficial to him or her in the long run and I will incorporate pieces and selections that interest them as well. I then further my teaching abilities once I graduated from college and start to teach in the classroom in 2011 in Memphis TN. I have been teaching consistently since 2011. I am a patient teacher who enjoys working with students of all ages. I played tuba, euphonium, and bass trombone in every ensemble in college and spent time on as the principal player in the top ensemble on multiple instruments. I obtained my Master’s degree in 2016 and immediately began teaching elementary school music. I love working with small children because it allows me to focus on teaching fundamentals of music and I get to reach more students because I teach 800 kids a week. Read More

The first priority for me is to dully understand what each student and parent wants from the desire for private instruction. My teaching methods are tailored to each student's indidvidual needs and expectaions for the duration of lessons. I don't have a specific method book set, for I use multiple sources thoughout the teaching experience. Most of my students are middle and high school students. Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I've worked as a singer/songwriter, touring artist and session musician in both Nashville and New York City. I'm proud to call Memphis home again when I'm not on tour. Read More
